More Chinese manufacturers of film capacitors are shifting their focus to the production of midrange and high-end types as applications in electric vehicles, and wind and solar power systems continue to grow. They will emphasize ultrasmall size, high capacitance and long operating life. Metalized PP and polyester kinds in particular are gaining attention for these attributes.

The typical selections in China are Mylar, PP, polyester and PC film capacitors, which have high insulation impedance, frequency and reliability, and low dielectric loss. They are widely used in household appliances, communications equipment and electricity generation, in addition to renewable energy systems. As quality guarantee, components carry CE, RoHS and UL safety approvals.

Chinese suppliers usually source metal foils, plastic films and epoxy resins from domestic providers, turning to foreign companies as required only.
